Studying at Fisher School is a truly enriching experience where learning is provided in a way that allows our students to reach their full potential. Through engaging and fun activities, we demonstrate that we are your best option, offering a unique educational philosophy that shapes the future leaders Colombia needs. We have a team of highly qualified and dedicated teachers who provide an exceptional education to our students. We offer a wide variety of extracurricular programs, such as sports, music, art, and science, to foster the holistic development of our students. At Fisher School, we provide a safe and stimulating environment for children's development, where respect, responsibility, and inclusion are encouraged.

Our bilingualism programs are supported by the international company Pearson Education, which motivates and inspires our teachers throughout the year to enhance their English teaching strategies through immersive activities in the cultures of English-speaking countries. Parents are responsible for supporting and monitoring their children's use of the textbooks, dictionaries, and online platforms provided to improve their communication skills in the second language.

Our eclectic pedagogical model is centered on Edgar Morin's theory of complex thinking, David Ausubel's theory of meaningful learning, Lev Vygotsky's sociocultural theory, and Howard Gardner's theory of multiple intelligences. We strive for human development through an excellent values instillation program.

We are 100% environmentalists, always encouraging students to love and respect nature, generating habits and attitudes towards the care and conservation of the environment that surrounds them.

To establish from an early age a concept of self in a permanent construction oriented towards leadership; generating in them the value of their knowledge, skills and their commitment to the region.

We have family education programs such as in-person and virtual parent schools that address topics aimed at healthy parenting guidelines that allow for the healthy development of children within the home.
To guide students’ education toward the development of their thinking, enhancing their critical, analytical, reflective, and managerial skills; to facilitate the acquisition of knowledge through updated pedagogical strategies that lead to a humanistic, technological, scientific, and bilingual education. Students will develop leadership qualities that reflect their vision of life as happy individuals, passionate about their region and country, capable of achieving great things, and committed to a better Colombia.
To be a high-quality bilingual school focused on the ongoing development of the individual. By the end of the 2020s, it will be one of the most important educational institutions in the city of Valledupar.
The Colegio Bilingüe Fisher School originated in Villanueva, La Guajira, in 1996, a town nestled in the beautiful La Guajira peninsula in northern Colombia. There, Gloria Oliveros Osorio, a social worker originally from Cartagena de Indias, arrived in the region to work at Cerrejón (a coal mining company). Witnessing the lack of an appropriate educational offering for her children’s upbringing (Ruth Zoraida and Oscar Daniel Celedón Oliveros), she decided to found a kindergarten, which she named
LA CASITA ENCANTADA.LA CASITA ENCANTADA lasted for three (3) years due to the relocation of the Celedón Oliveros family to the city of Valledupar (Cesar), located fifty (50) minutes away from the town of Villanueva.
Driven by the same concern for education—no longer just for her children, but also regarding the educational level of the region—Gloria Oliveros Osorio, equipped with the knowledge and experience gained in the field, decided to establish the COLEGIO BILINGÜE HAPPY KIDS kindergarten in 1998. After two (2) years, the school changed its corporate name to COLEGIO BILINGÜE FISHER KIDS.
Creating a new educational landscape, Gloria Oliveros Osorio, accompanied by an interdisciplinary team of professionals in Psychology, Physical Therapy, and Speech Therapy, set a goal to promote a distinct, non-traditional approach: PROJECT-BASED EDUCATION. This form of education is oriented toward the development of thought through modern pedagogical approaches, inspired by the Complex Thought theory of the French philosopher and sociologist Edgar Morin.
Guided by Edgar Morin, Fisher Kids enhances the intelligence, abilities, and skills of the child or learner through a Pedagogy of Love enriched with values. It is oriented toward training leaders who are passionate about life, ready to feel respect for their region, their people, and, naturally, their beloved homeland.
Being mindful of the importance of these elements and consistent with the changes in today’s society and globalized world, Fisher Kids proposes the mastery of a second language (ENGLISH) and the support of Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs) as the fundamental pillars of its learning processes.
With every process implemented year after year, Fisher School advances in the construction of a new educational paradigm in the region. The Vision states: To be one of the best schools in Valledupar, with high academic quality grounded in the permanent development of the Being.
